Welcome to the first mock draft of the 2019 season. We're a little less than two months out from the 2019 NFL draft in Nashville and the NFL combine just wrapped up in Indianapolis. A lot of these projections could change as teams fill needs through free agency, so these are based off of NFL roster needs as of this writing. Also, there are no projected trades so the draft order is as it is currently set. 1. Arizona Cardinals: Nick Bosa: Edge, Ohio State The combination of former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury becoming the head coach of the Cardinals and former Oklahoma Quarterback Kyler Murray fully committing to football over baseball has caused some people to believe the Cardinals are going to move on from Rosen after one year and draft Murray first overall. The soundbite where Kingsbury says he'd take Murray first overall if he had the chance is being blown out of proportion and taken out of context. We’re about halfway done with the 2018 college football season, and I’m just as depressed as you are about it. There’s a lot of questions that need answers before we can truly look ahead to next season. Who is going to lose to Alabama in the National Championship? Will UCLA or Tennessee win the race to tank for the #1 overall draft pick? Does Syracuse have the best defensive line in college football history? Only time will tell, as fans all we can do is wait and enjoy the season while we have it. However, there is one question we must, MUST, ask ASAP as possible: Where will Kelly Bryant play in 2019? The following Monday after the game against Georgia Tech Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney told Bryant that true freshman phenom Trevor Lawrence would be taking over as starting quarterback. Within two days Bryant announced that he intended to transfer from Clemson for better playing opportunities. There are many reasons why this past season Donovan Mitchell was not only the most electrifying rookie in the NBA—but the best. In his first year in the NBA Donovan averaged 20.5 points, which led all rookies. He also averaged 6.5 points in the fourth quarter alone. In 79 games he set the single season rookie record for three pointers made with 186, surpassing Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry who are both current all stars, and in only 63 games played he made 150 three pointers, which suggests that next season he should be well over 200. Against the New Orleans Pelicans he dropped 41 points, which is not only the Jazz rookie record, but also makes him one of the only active NBA players to score 40+ points as a rookie. The other players who have done that? LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Eric Gordon, Steph Curry, and Blake Griffin. That’s pretty good company to be in. There’s no sugarcoating that 2017 was a disappointing year for the Tar Heel Football team. After finishing 2016 with an 8-5 record they lost six players to the NFL draft, including star quarterback Mitch Trubisky. That is a lot of talent to replace in one season, and while UNC has had consistently good recruiting classes the last few years, the combination of the loss of talent and some losses that could have gone either way, the Tar Heels limped to a 3-9 record, including 1-7 in ACC play.             After missing a bowl game for the first time in his UNC tenure, Larry Fedora is obviously looking for a bounce back season. Quarterback Chazz Surratt has had a whole offseason to prepare as the presumed starter, which makes a huge difference going into the season.
