2019 NFL Mock Draft 2.0

Draft Day is finally here! Below is the first round mock the day of the draft. Again, this is what I think will happen, not what I would do. Also no projected trades.

1. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, Quarterback, Arizona
This has been the leagues worst kept secret since February.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, Edge, Ohio State
The best defensive player in the draft, San Francisco benefits the most from the Cardinals drafting Murray.

3. New York Jets: Josh Allen, Edge, Kentucky
Allen had seventeen sacks his last year at Kentucky, and will give the Jets pass coverage ability as well.

4. Oakland Raiders: Quinnen Williams, Defensive Tackle, Alabama
Williams is the best player available, some around the league think he's a better prospect than Bosa

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Devin White, Linebacker, LSU
White is a freak athlete and can contribute immediately to a depleted Tampa Bay defense.

6. New York Giants: Daniel Jones, Quarterback, Duke
The Giants and the Redskins are reportedly in a bidding war for Jones, and with no projected trades Jones goes to the Giants.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: TJ Hockenson, Tight End, Iowa
Only one year of production at Iowa, but for a team in need of weapons Hockenson is a player who does everything well.

8. Detroit Lions: Montez Sweat, Edge, Mississippi State
Sweat is one of the top three edge players in the draft, even with the addition of Trey Flowers the Lions desperately need more pass rushing production.

9. Buffalo Bills: Jonah Williams, Offensive Tackle, Alabama
Williams could be moved inside to Guard, and Buffalo could go receiver here. Value wise though offensive lineman is a better move at this spot.

10. Denver Broncos: Devin Bush, Linebacker, Michigan
Elway is rumored to be enamored with Missouri Quarterback Drew Lock, but the Bronco's have too many question marks on defense not to address that side of the ball in the first round.

11. Cincinnati Bengals: Dwayne Haskins, Quarterback, Ohio State
I see a team trading up higher than this to draft Haskins, but if he does fall this far then new coach Zac Taylor will start his first season with a new quarterback.

12. Green Bay Packers: Andre Dillard, Offensive Tackle, Washington State
Dillard is the best pass blocking tackle in the draft class, and it's still too early to go offensive skill player for Green Bay.

13. Miami Dolphins: Christian Wilkins, Defensive Tackle, Clemson
Wilkins is a top ten player in the draft who could fall because teams ahead of Miami are drafting for need over talent.

14. Atlanta Falcons: Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle, Houston
Oliver is undersized, but if he can keep his weight around 280 lbs, then he'll be a three down defensive tackle.

15. Washington Redskins: Drew Lock, Quarterback, Missouri
With Alex Smith's future so uncertain Washington almost has to go for a quarterback, either with their own pick or trading for Rosen.

16. Carolina Panthers: Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Clemson
The Panthers have a lot of places they can go with this pick, but they'll take advantage of how deep this defensive line class is. Ferrell has all the tools of a successful pro defensive end.

17. New York Giants: Dexter Lawrence, Defensive Tackle, Clemson
The Giants don't end the first round with a quarterback and a defensive lineman would be one of the biggest surprises of the draft.

18. Minnesota Vikings: Jawaan Taylor, Offensive Tackle, Florida
Minnesota's offensive line is one of the weakest position units in the entire league. GM Rick Spielman would sprint this pick in if Taylor is still on the board.

19. Tennessee Titans: Marquise Brown, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
Concerns about his Lisfranc injury and 166 lbs. weight are real, but Brown is one of the most explosive receivers I've ever watched in college.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers: Deandre Baker, Cornerback, Georgia
Pittsburgh needs a corner badly, and having their pick of the top three consensus players would be a dream. Baker is the most versatile and can play in any scheme.

21. Seattle Seahawks: Brian Burns, Edge, Florida State
Burns in an incredible athlete, posting combine times on par with wide receivers. He needs more power to his game, but what he already does well he does extremely well.

22. Baltimore Ravens: D.K. Metcalf, Wide Receiver, Ole Miss
The star of the combine, Metcalf has some stiffness coming out of routes that is an issue. Just like Burns, however, NFL Coaches always think they're the person to get the most out of "X" player.

23. Houston Texans: Cody Ford, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma
This is a worst case scenario draft for the Texans, who badly need a tackle. Look for them to try to trade up for Andre Dillard or Jawaan Taylor.

24. Oakland Raiders: Garrett Bradbury, Center, North Carolina State
Not a huge need, but offensive lineman are always a need in the NFL. Bradbury is the best center in the class, by a considerable margin.

25. Philadelphia Eagles: Byron Murphy, Cornerback, Washington
The way to lose games in the NFL is to have multiple injuries at the same position. Cornerback depth was part of the Eagles struggles last year, and Murphy is my favorite Cornerback in the class.

26. Indianapolis Colts: Jeffery Simmons, Defensive Tackle, Mississippi State
Some NFL executives think Simmons is the best player in the class. He tore his ACL in February, meaning he'll have a "medical redshirt" his rookie year which will cause him to fall to the late first.

27. Oakland Raiders: Darnell Savage: Safety, Maryland
Savage is a late riser in the draft. At Maryland he was always around the ball. He's a versatile safety and can do a lot in Oakland's scheme.

28. Los Angeles Chargers: Nasir Adderley, Safety, Delware
Adderley is the ultimate center fielder free safety in the class. Paired with sophomore Derwin James, the Chargers will have one of the best safety tandems in the league.

29. Seattle Seahawks: Johnathan Abram, Safety, Mississippi State
The third #HailState player to go in the first round. Abram is a Kam Chancellor/Landon Collins type safety. Some coverage issues that need to improve, but naturally instinctive and I believe can play both safety positions.

30. Green Bay Packers: Greedy Williams, Cornerback, LSU
Williams is the best press-man corner in the draft. Corner isn't a huge need for Green Bay, but Williams is too talented to not take if he gets to this spot.

31. Los Angeles Rams: Erik McCoy, Center, Texas A&M
McCoy can play either center or guard in the NFL. McCoy held up well against Both Quinnen Williams and Dexter Lawrence, two of the top defensive tackles in the country. The ability to play both guard and center would be critical for a Rams team with question marks all along the offensive line.

32. New England Patriots: Noah Fant, Tight End, Iowa
New England could go receiver here, but the depth at receiver and the scarcity at tight end force New England to go with Fant and take a receiver with one of their two second round picks. Concentration drops and lack of production to match athleticism are two biggest question marks for Fant. However, in the right team situation Fant can be the steal of the draft.
